About The Board
Doug Kuhlmann is the Director of the Conservation Board. The director is hired to
carry out Board policies and projects.

It is the duty of the Conservation Board to set policy and to decide which projects
are to be implemented and developed.
The  Board was created in 1960 by the
voters of Monona County.
The five board members in order from left to right are
Nancy McGrain, Donald Lamb, Craig Hartman, Larry
Sessions and Tom Ross.
The mission of the Monona County Conservation Board is to acquire - by
lease, gift, or purchase - land for public parks, wildlife areas, forest
preserves, recreational areas, and historic sites.
The shoulder patch is the symbol and
signature of the Monona County
Conservation Board. The patch serves as a
reminder to not only to provide outdoor
recreation and education, but more
importantly, to preserve and use our
natural resources wisely. This patch is
proudly worn on the uniforms of
employees.
